Gas Turbine OTSGs (GT-OTSG)

A hybrid approach to steam generation

Gas Turbine Direct Fired Once Through Steam Generators (GT-OTSGs) are a hybrid approach to steam generation, using both a gas turbine and a modified register style burner for heat generation. GT-OTSG’s combine the robust operating capabilities of a Direct Fired OTSG with the ability to generate power in a cogeneration application for better fuel efficiency and reduced emissions as well as lower long-term operational costs.

At the same time, the once-through design, without the steam drum that comes with an HRSG, means they offer a more compact, responsive design, suitability for variable load applications, and better tolerance for lower quality water.

About Our GT-OTSGs

We design custom units for seamless performance.

The overall design of the Gas Turbine Once Through Steam Generator is very similar to a direct-fired unit, minus the supply of a forced draft fan. Instead, the GT-OTSG uses the flue gas from a gas turbine as the combustion air source.

Our comprehensive knowledge and skill, backed by our team of engineers, mean that we can adapt our designs to integrate cleanly with your existing systems, and we’re comfortable designing and building GT-OTSG units for operation behind a variety of gas turbine packages up to approximately 45 MW.

Why Choose Us

When our clients first come to us, it’s usually because they’ve heard we’re the best.

We design, purchase all materials, fabricate, ship to site, offload and install, field erect, and commission your project. Every GT-OTSG we build is custom designed and built to your specific processes and technical requirements.

This is especially important if we’re making your GT-OTSG to work with an existing gas turbine on your site, and to ensure that your unit can meet your process demands and regulatory requirements.
